Robert Ovette Brown
Founder and Chief Executive Officer

As a St. Mary’s graduate, Robert founded Betty Jean Brown Foundation.  As a volunteer, Robert has served in the Philippines, Rwanda, Uganda, and Tanzania.  Upon return to the United States, he worked as a Special Education Teacher, serving inner city youths in Oakland, California.  Robert, who is finishing up his MNA in Nonprofit Administration has been a leader in service learning for more than a decade, and is excited to lead Betty Jean Brown Foundation to the next generation.

Candace Morton
Officer-at-Large - Volunteer Coordinator

Candace has10 years of experience in customer service and sales and a strong passion for children’s social issues. Over the past 20 years she has volunteered for the Bay Are Crisis Nursery, was President of the Anaheim Hills MOMS Club, Secretary of the Lafayette Nursery School, Meet Director for Golden Gate Gymnastics and volunteer of numerous school events. As Volunteer Organizer, Candace provides support to schools, volunteers and nonprofits organizations, and also performs a variety of administrative tasks.

Gregory Morton
Officer-at-Large - Marketing

Greg brings a wealth of sales and marketing experience to our board having served on three for-profit enterprise executive teams. His charitable work includes work with Big Brothers of America, Bay Area Crisis Nursery and the development of corporate community outreach programs. He has spent the last twelve years in the human resources, training, and organizational development space. Greg holds an MBA from Pepperdine University and an SPHR credential from the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Michael Kennedy
Officer-at-Large - Technology

Michael brings over 20 years of technical experience to the board and is currently employeed with one of the worlds top software developers. He has worked on a vast array of technologies ranging from ecommerce to cloud computing and Software as a Service (SaasS). He has helped to build and maintain numerous web presences from small web sites to large high traffic web applications. Michael is resposible for the development and support of the Betty Jean Brown foundations web site.
